Udara Maunasinghe holding the fort with a gutsy 72 runs with non of the famed batting line up giving him support where another 30 runs would helped the cause. There were two inexpiable run outs which added to the confusion. But all credit to Ananda Spinners who throttle the Thurstanites after they got off to flyer with 42 of 0 wickets in 8 overs.
Thurstan at one stage had Ananda cornered with 80 for 5 with 14 overs to get the balance 60 runs, but few drop catches & couple for run outs missed and some sensible batting by Ananda saw them through.
Thurstan Under 17 B team also had reached the semi finals & will meet Royal B and the match will be played either Thursday or Friday this week. Last year the B team became Champions in the tournament.
