Triangular Swimming Meet for the Graetian Gunawardhana Challenge Trophy will be held on Friday 26th June 2015 from 8.30am onward, at the D S Senanauake College Swimming Pool Complex.
The All Island Inter School Swimming Competition was held 17th to 20th June 2015 at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex, concluded successfully with large number of students and spectators in attendance.
It was a happy weekend for Thurstanites and after several years we were able to earn some achievements during the meet with a 3rd place winning by our Captain, Anupa Manjitha Gamage – under 19, 200m free – 2.10.15. He was talented enough to manage that level even with bare practicing due to his jaw injury.
There were two qualifying time achievements by Thurstanites,
Saniru Thamuditha Muthukumarana under 11, 50 m butterfly, one of our talented swimmers who has earned the all island 2nd place in his age group at the Pentathlon Swimming Competition held recently.
Ramin Rathnayaka – under 13, 100m Fly.

ANNUAL SCIENCE QUIZ COMPETITION 2015
The Science Society of Thurstan College has organized its annual Science Quiz Competition. It is to be held on 19th June 2015 at school premises.
The purpose of this event is to increase the knowledge of science among the students. Over 25 schools are expected to participate for this event.

Congratulations – Dulwan Jayarathne
Congratulations to our Gold Medalist DULWAN JAYARATHNE of Thurstan College who won the all island junior KARATE – Kata Championship.
The traditional Rugby encounter between the old boys and present boys of Thurstan College will be played on 22nd of February at Thurstan Rugby Grounds , kick off at 4.30 pm. Thurstan present team will be captain by Thanura De Silva and Kavinda Dilsara will be his deputy. Old Thurstanites who are willing to be a member of the Old Boys team are requested to contact Mr Mohan Fernando or Mr Shivantha Pradeep .
